Ch 6 — The Blueprint Takes Shape

What this chapter explores

Mark watches Maia and Dorian breathing together through their heart centres. His anxiety gives way to balance and inclusion. The next morning, he and Maia begin building a blueprint of skills — starting with honest, loving communication and emotional regulation.

In Essence

Mark places a hand on Maia’s ankle. It doesn’t feel like something is being taken from him — instead, balance and inclusion. The next morning, he admits the jealous voice is still there.

Together they build a blueprint for the relationship network. Maia shares her Network of LOVE notes; Mark reads them, captivated. They begin with honest, loving communication. They speak from the heart centre rather than from ego or fear, creating safe space to share feelings without shame. They address small hurts early with “I feel” statements and communicate needs and limits clearly.

Then self-regulation: recognising triggers early, taking full responsibility, pausing to self-soothe and breathe through the heart centre. They process emotions through walking in nature, breathwork or meditation before bringing them to others.

Maia reads that jealousy isn’t just one person’s problem but the responsibility of everyone involved — a signal, a fear alarm going off. The team’s job is to acknowledge the feeling and work together to find safety and stability. Mark underlines it: jealousy is a team process. This transforms jealousy from a shameful failing into a shared puzzle to solve, and the network becomes something they can build together.
